Work in corporate space is something widely discussed, especially among entrepreneurs that think full time job as toxic.
I agree with that, some of my short 4 months career break is the best time of my life.
I regained health and mental health.
But after that, I will still go back to a 9 to 6 environment, while continuing the hustle and other income sources.
Because this give me a sense of security
Childhood trauma
When I was a kid, the financial situation of my family is full of up and downs.
We made it through, but that period of time was hard.
Especially how your relatives look down at my parents. That still makes me feel disgusting.
So I need security. And a 9 to 6 corporate job is just right .
Stable seat, stable scoop of work, monthly income come to mama on time.
That makes my heart feel safe in this turbulent world.
And as I grow older, I also see this as a place to know more people.
People from all walks of life, with different needs and dreams
That is how I find my target customers and listen to them at the same time.
Another perk from a corporate job.
Then why the hustle?
Because a corporate job won’t make you rich.
They won’t let you make 6 figures a month. Your side hustle and business does that.
Your hustle is what lets you get career breaks.
My side hustles let me shift my career path at 25, study while working till 30.
And still don’t hurt my life quality, even when salary from corporate dropped, alot.
So you can say I am a greedy human being. I want both rich and security.
Even if it means I need to work an extra mile.
On top of that, I am having fun while working on my business.
So it is not completely hard work.
What makes me carry on at my desk
I have said I agree that 9 to 6 jobs are toxic. So you might think there should be more reason that I stick with it. Yes, indeed.
Aside from a sense of security, is learning to become a stoic. One of my favorite thought is leave what you cannot control aside, focus on what you can control.
I can control my thoughts, my emotions, my responses to what happened.
I can plan ahead of things and work with discipline on it.
But I cannot control the things that happened.
If God throws me a curve ball, so be it.
If God sends me someone hard to work with at work, learn from it.
If God derails me from my plans, embrace air.
Instead of having anxiety and getting mad at whatever things are happening. Stop blaming others for what is wrong and instead, review the whole incident.
